Ladi & Rigani: Where We Made Our Tastiest "Stop" This Spring

The weather has warmed up, the days have grown longer, and there’s no doubt that we’re in one of the most beautiful seasons of the year. So, with a little sunshine and a springtime mood, we found ourselves searching for the perfect spot for a lunch break that combines quality with the authenticity of Mediterranean flavors. And the aromas, of course, led us to our all-time favorite grill house, Ladi & Riganí, at The Mall Athens.  

Modern grill tradition  

Upon arriving on the 3rd floor of The Mall Athens, we immediately realized that here, the concept of the traditional grill restaurant has taken on a modern, cool aesthetic that sets the stage for us to indulge in its flavors. 

Classic and unexpected flavors

After perusing the menu for a while, we decided to go for both classic and more unexpected options, in keeping with our mood. So, we started with our favorite: a serving of Yogurt Kebab that took us on a culinary journey from the very first bite. Perfectly cooked and mouthwatering, it was nestled in a fluffy traditional pita and, paired with the cool strained yogurt, was exactly what we were looking for. Next up was the Green Dish chicken gyro, which, as they emphasized, we had to try—and indeed, it surprised us. It was tasty, it was delicious, and—most mind-blowing of all—it was light yet filling.

Of course, our meal wouldn’t have been complete without the essential fried potatoes we love so much. Crispy and freshly fried, they were accompanied by the velvety feta sauce that is the restaurant’s signature, “stealing” the show and our hearts.

As expected, we didn’t leave a single bite. We laughed, chatted, and then it was time to leave, with the promise that we’d return to try the rest of the menu, because Ladi & Riganí at The Mall Athens has firmly made its way onto our list of favorite spots for good food.
