It was the summer of 1969: Man took his first step on the moon. Nearly 450,000 people gathered in New York to witness the historic Woodstock concert. Doris and Don Fisher opened the first Gap store in San Francisco, U.S.A., aiming at creating a customer-friendly store experience, while, at the same time, providing a wide variety of fits and styles. Today, Gap continues to be the most popular destination for wardrobe essentials, such as T-shirts, hoodies, great-fitting pants and DENIM. What began as one-brand company, has grown to include Gap, Gap Kids and baby Gap. Gap has become a social role model, by offering clothing and accessories based in cool, confident and casual style.
